Shaving is a quick and easy way to remove unwanted hair from any part of the body - it is quick and easy, but there are also drawbacks!
Let's see if it worth shaving, or just stand the pain of other hair removal methods.

To Shave Or Not To Shave

Hair on some parts of the body can retain sweat, which favors bacteria formation.

The bacteria which forms releases a strong and unpleasant smell.
This is why the hair should be removed, it is more hygienic, especially during the hot months.

There are many ways to remove body hair and shaving seems to be one of the most popular choices of hair removal techniques.

Even though shaving is the least effective hair removal techniques it is the fastest.

Here are some pleasant and unpleasant things about shaving body hair:

Why shave

  • shaving can be done quickly and painlessly every time you need to remove hair.
  • you can shave any part of the body (but not face!)
  • you don't need additional products, you can just use soap of shaving cream to make the skin more slippery in order for the razor blade to slide easier.
  • you can shave precisely the hairs that you wish to remove.
  • it is not a messy hair removal technique.

Why not to shave

  • shaving is not a very efficient way to remove the hair for long periods of time. The hair is removed only from the surface of the skin and grows back in just a couple of days.
  • shaving if not carefully done can cause cuts which can easily get infected.
  • shaving often can lead to razor burns and ingrown hairs.

  • it is hard to get all the hairs shaved because you won't know which area you have covered entirely. The blondish hairs that are not as visible out of the sunlight can easily remain unshaved.
  • shaved hair grows back thicker, darker and coarser.
Depending on what works for you and how satisfied you are with the results you can choose shaving as your hair removal technique or you can choose laser, waxing or IPL hair removal which are more effective.
